Rita Ora

 Rita Sahatciu Ora, born Rita Sahatciu on 26 November 1990, is a British musician, singer, and actress. In February 2012, she was included in DJ Fresh's "Hot Right Now" single. It reached the top spot in the UK. Ora her debut album of studio work, was released in August 2012. It was released at number one in the United Kingdom. It featured two UK top-ten singles "R.I.P." "How We Do (Party)," and "R.I.P." Ora was the top-three artist with three singles on the 2012 UK Singles Chart's Top 100. Ora's sophomore studio album Phoenix was released in November of 2018. The top ten UK hit track "Your Song" as well as the follow-up singles "Anywhere" (and "Let You Love Me") made it to the top five. Ora was the first British solo female artist to make it into the top ten of the United Kingdom with "Let You Love Me". Ora was born to Albanian parents, and was born in Pristina (present-day Kosovo) in SFR Yugoslavia (present day Kosovo). Vera, her mother (nee Bajraktari) is a psychiatrist. Her father, Besnik Sahatciu is a pub owner , and previously studied economics. Ora is the elder sister to Elena and Don who is the younger brother. Rita Sahatciu was her name at the time she was born. Her surname derives from the Turkish word saatci that translates to "watchmaker" However, her parents added Ora (which in Albanian is "time") to her surname of their family. Her family left Kosovo to protest the oppression of Albanians which was initiated by the collapse of Yugoslavia. They relocated to London, England when she was a newborn. Her birthplace was in Notting Hill in West London and attended Sylvia Young Theatre School which was an arts and performing school.
